Selling in new shops and new things on Folksy

Stained glass and driftwood mobile on folksy

I’ve been busy making things and some of my items are now for sale in Leaf Street, Magdalen Rd, Exeter and Busy Lizzies, Popplefords Barn, Newton Poppleford.  Both shops showcase a lovely range of local handmade products and I am pleased my items are being sold in such  great settings.

Steph and Richard’s window

I have just installed a window in Steph and Richard’s front door in Exeter. This is a 1930’s house and although I have created a contemporary design the colours and shapes echo the art decco stylings of the original windows. This project has been a real challenge as they have UPVC windows throughout their house. In the end we drilled into the UPVC and screwed the window into the white window surround. This has been very effective and has allowed them to have a traditional stained glass window without loosing their UPVC window.

This method of installing stained glass seems to be a useful avenue for those who want a stained glass window but (as with so many houses) have UPVC thoughout and allows you to return some character and craftmanship to your house.

Sidmouth Folk Festival

Our little stall was not totally washed away in the rain today and we got to listen to some lovely music whilst we sat behind our stall and tried to keep our bored children occupied, this was acheived by the man on the next stall selling bubble swords!

Thanks to all those who brought stuff from us, or just had a look!

Despite the rain and the distractions of a festival I did find the time to take some of my boats and other seaside themed items to the lovely shops in Sidmouth and you can now buy some of my stuff in:

MADE a gorgeous little boutique shop for handmade items in Libra Court, off  Fore  Street in Sidmouth.  Coco is a lovely lady and she is a real supporter of local artisans so please go support her little jem of a shop.  COCOHODGKINSON@YAHOO.CO.UK, 01395 577519

ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL a lovely little norticallia shop right on Sidmouth Sea Front, really worth a look for all manner of boat related goodies. www.allthingsbright.co.uk, 01395 513 442

Sidmouth Folk Festival

Had a very enjoyable day on the seafront with my friend Hesta and on a little stall she had made with loving care. It was the first time we have had a whole day without children to sit and chat and people watch and there were lots of people to watch!

We are on Sidmouth seafront all day again on  Thursday 6th August Look out for our little stall on the seafront!

I am a stained glass artist working in Exeter and a busy mum of 2; trying to carve a path through the tide of washing and children's toys that stands between me and making beautiful things.
